We had a wonderful dinner at Romano tonight. Before we were even shown to our table, I casually mentioned that it was my birthday. The staff member remembered it and let the kitchen know, and they later surprised us with a lovely birthday dessert platter. Such a thoughtful touch! The service was excellent throughout the night. The dishes came out quickly but were still beautifully prepared and very tasty. Our favourite was definitely the tiger prawn pasta — the spicy sauce paired perfectly with the prawns. We liked it so much that we asked for extra prawns and sauce a few times. We also mentioned that we’re not big fans of alcohol flavours in food, and the staff immediately checked with the kitchen to see if the dishes could be prepared without alcohol. They were very accommodating and helpful. After a few disappointing dining experiences on the island over the past few days, we were so happy to find this restaurant on our last day here — which also happened to be my birthday. We also left a little extra tip to thank the servers who took such great care of us. You were all fantastic! I truly hope you enjoy and take pride in the work you do. Great food, great service, and a really memorable evening. Thank you for making my Hamilton Island birthday dinner so special!
Romano Restaurant was excellent from start to finish. Ryan was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. We ordered the pork belly, crab pasta, and some sautéed greens, and every dish was well cooked and full of flavour. The pork belly was tender with a crisp finish, the crab pasta was rich and balanced, and even the greens were done properly. Could not complain at all. Would happily return.
We had a delicious meal at Romano’s. The rose wine was tasty too. The shrimp tagliatelle was phenomenal, loved every mouthful and the ravioli was very tasty too. Our service was great - from the front desk greeting to the waiting service from Kevin. Definitely worth making a reservation to eat at Romano’s if you’re visiting the island! The only negative is that the Caprese salad starter had a very very small amount of mozzarella- barely 2 chunks, and it wasn’t laid out as a traditional salad. It just wasn’t worth $28. The main courses were however very good value for money!!
Nice dinner at Romano’s. Cocktails were yummy. Also had the calamari, but wouldn’t recommend as it was a very small portion. Fish and ragu pasta were both very good! Lovely setting to watch the sunset.
First time at Romano's Hamilton Island but certainly won't be our last Loved the setting and the food was sensational. Big thanks to Rosa for looking after us! Treat yourself to the dessert platter, worth the splurge
Worthy Italian night to end the Hamilton trip and cheers to Ryan who made tonight perfect. Appreciate the good banter and exceptional food with the most delectable pistachio Tiramisu to die for.
Celebrated my 60th birthday there and myself and my husband had a fantastic night. The service we received from Rosa made me feel really special. Her friendliness, professionalism and her beautiful smile, along with the amazing food and wine and desserts was brilliant. Liam and Rosa took the time to sing me happy birthday. Again thank you for a great night.
Amazing Italian food, especially the pastas. Fulfill my crave for good pasta and tiramisu on the island! The service was cheerful but professional too. The restaurant is quite busy so make bookings in advance.
